CUP CAKE THANK YOU CARD

As I said I have the cupcake bug - tho I think it will be more of a case of making cards with them and eating them - never actually getting round to making them. Off to Florida soon - Can't wait to hit the craft shops. John said something stupid - mentioning bring golf balls back - as if there is enough room in his case for them!!!
This is a card for Kathleen from the cupcake workshop.
 Will also enter it in the www.milkcoffeechallenge. - lots of layers.
I love this Stampin Up paper as you can really layer with it effectively.

This time next week - i will be on the way to the hotel - the countdown has begun!!!!

CUP CAKES

Had a really lovely morning doing something else crafty. I went to a cupcake workshop run by Kathleen. We just made it in time no thanks to the roadworks and the worst weather this year. It was great fun and would love to do it again. The cakes were pre-made so I can't take the glory for them but all the decorating was done by me after we had a demonstration - I felt safer with the fondant rather than be let loose with the icing bag. Once it was cleared away we had tea in proper china cups and pieces of Kathleens fab home-made cakes. Really great day - Then drove into Solihull to look at what cupcakey stuff Lakeland has, I think the cards I make tonight will have a cupcake theme!!!

Boys Toys

I will be on my hols in two weeks - joined Slimming World to lose a few pounds - off in a bit to see how I have done. I have lost 10lbs in 5 weeks - but is far easier to put 10lbs on in 5 days!!! I am doing this to indulge in funnel cake - just look  !!!

still the week-end

Just finished watching the London Marathon. The first woman winner has crossed the line in 2:19:38. I feel I would have a slightly longer time of 2:27:09 [however that would be 2months/27days/9hours!!!]
Obviously as well as my love of long distance running[to Greggs] I love card making - here is one I made earlier this morning whilst I was cheering on the runners from the comfort of my armchair - I was with them in spirit.

Friends

I know that I am truly blessed to have the friends I have - I still keep in touch with friends from school, my Army days and all the jobs I have done. I have wonderful friends abroad that I write to .I have met some fabulous women who were on the breast cancer road with me and I have friends through the church and crafting that I have wonderful times with.....and that's not even counting my cyber friends who I may not have met but still consider a special part of my life.

Tomorrow I am for my annual MOT at the oncologists - really hoping that he is going to cut my visits down - it all seems so long ago but I know they are being careful but whilst i am there whoever had the idea of putting Greggs slap bang in the middle of the hospital - you have to do something to while away the long waits

Bling It On

Had a relaxing night  and managed to make a few cards - obviously I will be spending the rest of the day clearing up - how can making just a few cards generate such mess...John says he has forgotten what the top of the coffee table looks like and it seems such a long time that he has not found a sticky gem attached to his toast.

Grand National Winners

I had two random bets on the national that cost me £2. each - just went for daft names they were Neptunes Collange and Sunnyhill Boy....usually my horses fall at the first fence or seem more suited to being a donkey on Blackpool beach...but they came first...and second!!!!! Think I have won £50........wonder what craftiness I can spend that on!!!

We want the Osmonds!!!!

 Direct from Caesars Palace, Las Vegas appearing at Wolverhampton Civic Centre!!! Never have so many HRT patches and screaming middle aged women been in one place.Admittedly there were only 3 Osmonds with a combined age of 240 but they were jolly fine and I may have reverted back to a 14 year old last night.

Enough frivolity -here is an engagement card I made - using a wonderful Mo Manning image and even some dreaded peel-offs.

Happy Easter - I didn't make this one

Thought I had better admit to that straight away before I take all the glory. My lovely lovely friend Diane made it for me - its a traditional Easter Card and really special.
 Just came back from the Easter Service at church - we all tied messages to bright yellow balloons and released them- very spectacular however the main Cannock Road is not necessarily the best spot - have visionsof motorists swerving to avoid them - they were a bit top heavy so did not quite make it to heaven!!!

I have used a Mo Manning image and  I eventually  found the twine that I had put in a safe place.

Can't believe how awful the weather is - this time last week I was sitting in glorious sunshine feeding the ducks in St James Park by Buckingham Palace.
Phillip is home for a few weeks ans is patiently showing me how to use the camera so hopefully the next uploaded piccie will have been done completely by myself - don't hold your breath tho!!

wedding card

Thought I had loads of time left to do this wedding card  - but like everything i left it til the last minute - even missed the challenge i was going to put it in - oh well i can still enter it in the totallygorjuss challenge which is for swirly whirly [the paper has faint swirls on it that you can't quite see but you can see the swirls on the box lid]
I have used my favourite lily of the valley stamp, lots of flowers and stickles.

Its an 8x8 card - i really need to write the measurements down for the box - i go through the same pantomime every time I try to make one.!!

my lovely weekend

been to london for the weekend to meet my turkish friend deniz - we met when we were 12 and have kept in touch ever since. She was in UK for a conference so we had sunday together - really lovely day
